What is swarm intelligence?
Swarm intelligence describes the ability of a system to develop superior intelligence through the cooperation of many individual actors. A brain of brains emerges that is smarter than any individual member. A well-known example of this is the Kentucky Derby, where 20 horse racing enthusiasts collectively predicted the first four horses in the race and placed a $20 bet. Although none of the individuals could correctly predict all four horses, they collectively made almost $11,000 in profit because their flock prediction was correct.
This was no coincidence. Oscar winners, football results and the popularity ratings of politicians were also well predicted. Doctors have achieved better results with swarm diagnosis predictions than doctors working alone.
So far, this technology has hardly been used to make business decisions. We want to operate on the financial markets with our members’ money, give the swarm a good capital cushion and provide our members with a dividend, ideally a basic income.

Artificial intelligence (AI) is gaining traction, and many are warning about the potential dangers associated with it. In this context, the goal is to pool the intellectual resources of members in systems of swarm intelligence. This is also seen as an approach to protect humanity from purely artificial intelligence.
Human values and emotions are an essential part of our existence, and the swarm intelligence makes it possible to bring these to the forefront. In contrast, a purely artificial intelligence has no inherent motivation to share our core values or make decisions that support our interests. It is already becoming clear that purely digital AI systems can outperform us, and this trend is expected to continue.
The “hive mind” therefore represents an approach to improving human ability to act and remaining competitive. Efforts are being made to potentially find alternative approaches, but it is clear that we can no longer ignore the potential dangers of AI. However, AI should not be completely ruled out.
